Fortifikationsverket is looking for a junior construction project manager for Eksjö. What does a junior project manager do at Fortifikationsverket?

Fortifikationsverket is a government agency tasked with providing the Armed Forces and other authorities with secure properties. We build, own, and manage our unique and extensive property portfolio located throughout Sweden.

As a junior project manager, you will support one or more project managers in the ongoing project activities within construction and civil engineering projects. You may also get to manage smaller projects yourself. The tasks are varied, and you will be involved in working from early stages to project completion and handover to management and clients. During the projects, you will work on planning related to security protection, procurement from framework agreements, record-keeping, and ongoing project follow-up. Part of the job also includes participating in project preparations, preparing decision matters, procurements, and developing tender documents.

The work often takes place in teams together with project managers, staff, and specialists.

What do you offer us?

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree or vocational education (where the degree can be a maximum of 8 years old) with a focus on community building, road and water, construction technology, architecture, or equivalent, or other education that we consider equivalent. A valid driver's license (class B) is required.

We consider it an advantage if you have prior knowledge of cost estimation/bid calculation in projects and/or knowledge of property and construction law as well as the Public Procurement Act (LOU). It is also beneficial if you have worked for a year or so with construction projects, for example, as an assistant project manager, construction engineer, or similar role.

You find it easy to collaborate with others and maintain relationships. You work in a structured manner while being motivated to achieve your goals together with your colleagues.

What do we offer you?

The project department consists of 17 units and approximately 150 employees throughout Sweden. The department's 14 project units are responsible for the implementation of construction and civil engineering projects, where project managers lead and coordinate the work and participate in the construction process from early stages to handover to management and clients. Our clients' increased need for suitable premises and fortifications will result in increased investment volumes for a long time to come.

The project unit we are looking for a project manager for currently consists of 5 project managers, one investment leader, and one unit manager.

The position is a permanent employment, based in Eksjö. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment at Fortifikationsverket is security classified.
